What’s the basic concept?
Long-time mental health professionals partner with world-class explorers, scientists, and artists to create transformative therapeutic adventures for young adults. Each adventure centers on an authentic and important project mission, much like a team from National Geographic “on assignment” or a team of scientists on a research expedition.
What’s the duration of each expedition?
Around 45 days (6 weeks). 4 expeditions per year.
What’s the scheduling framework of each expedition?
Initial 1-2 week orientation at a lake cabin in Wisconsin, followed by 3.5 weeks on the expedition, ending with 3-4 days back in Wisconsin before departure home.
Who is on each expedition team?
Our world-class expedition leader, plus Ben Thwaits (program coordinator), Hillary Giller (expedition therapist), and four or five young adult students
How do I apply?
What travel documents will I need?

Is this going to be safe?

Our guides have deep local connections that will ensure a high level of predictability and safety. All of our locations are near quality health care in the event of emergencies, and staff are trained in First Aid and CPR.
